This year’s Fund Me will raise funds to support the purchase of two bronchoscopes, which will bring a new service to our community.
A type of therapeutic scope, bronchoscopes are a thin tube used to look inside a patient’s lungs during a bronchoscopy. These important pieces of equipment allow clinicians to assess lung tissue, take cultures, and perform biopsies. These procedures and tests provide insights to check for infections and help clinicians best manage a patient’s care.
There are two key pieces to being able to perform bronchoscopies in our community. The first is having a qualified clinician to perform the procedure and the second is having the necessary equipment. At this time, our hospital does not perform bronchoscopies as we do not possess the equipment to do so. We do, however, have the medical expertise.
Currently, if a patient in our community requires a bronchoscopy, they must travel a minimum of 40 minutes to a regional hospital. Purchasing two bronchoscopes for our hospital would allow our local service to expand to offer this procedure in our community, eliminating this unnecessary travel.

Online Silent Auction
We are excited to host an online auction once again as part of this year’s Galalicious. Many incredible local businesses and partners have stepped forward to contribute amazing items and experiences – from private getaways, to pamper packages, culinary delights, home décor, sports memorabilia, and more!
